Laura's Bio
Laura has had job opportunities in many different fields of work that eventually led her to open her own health food store, Full Circle Market in Winchester, Kentucky.
Upon graduating from EKU in 1993 with a Bachelor’s in Paralegal Studies, she worked for Legal Aid where she assisted individuals with Social Security claims. Laura enjoyed helping others, but felt this wasn’t what she wanted to do long term.
She then went to Montana for a summer of employment with Yellowstone National Park in 1995. This led her to work seasonal jobs with the National Park Service in both the Great Smoky Mountains and Mammoth Cave National Parks. During her tenure with the Park Service, she gained an interest in the health food industry while shopping for vegetarian alternatives. In 1998, Laura moved back to her home state of Kentucky, and began working at Good Foods Co-op in Lexington.
While at Good Foods Co-op, she was promoted to manager and assisted the Co-op in opening their juice bar and café. Noticing the growth of the health food industry, and the lack of health food stores in rural communities, Laura began looking into opening her own health food store.
In 2001, Laura opened the Full Circle Market. She constantly learns about vitamins, herbs, supplements, and health foods by reading publications, attending educational seminars, and listening to customers and health care practitioners. She looks forward to continuing in sharing her experiences and education with the community that has so graciously accepted her.
